Greater Short-toed Lark Calandrella brachydactyla |
© A. R. Dean
The identity of this Calandrella lark caused some hesitation.
The neck patches, face pattern and subdued stippling (rather than well-defined
streaks) on the breast led to a conclusion of Greater Short-toed Lark
but
the relatively short tertials and well-exposed primary tips seemed more in
accordance with Lesser. The tertials do not appear overly worn. However,
only two primary tips are visible, with a long gap then to the tertials.
