Note: clean white head; smooth dark grey upperparts, slightly darker in shade than nearby argentatus Herring Gulls; delicate appearance of head and neck in proportion to body-size; long and parallel-sided bill, lacking obvious gonys; olive-yellow hue to base of bill; small, beady-looking eye; and long, spiky wing-point with long white tip to outermost primary.
