A large and bulky 1W Herring Gull. Note fresh scapulars, with subterminal dark areas creating barred upperparts; chequered wing-coverts. Outer tertials with whitish notches along margins. Bulk of this individual might suggest nominate argentatus but broad blackish tail-band occupying significant part of tail more associated with argenteus.
