A first-summer Little Gull. In this species, the moult to first-summer plumage includes the tail-feathers. A broken tail-band can result from a combination of new and unmoulted feathers but also new feathers may vary in pattern. At this age the underwing remains pale but will become at first patchy and then adult-like during the next moult into 2W plumage.
