An immaculate example of an adult winter Yellow-legged Gull in late December.
The lower two images show the characteristic shape and posture of many Yellow-legged Gulls seen in the midlands in winter: a long, flat or even slightly concave profile to the dorsal surface, from mantle to tip of folded wings, and a long, tapered and upwardly tilted rear end, with little or no tertial step.
