An adult Black-headed Gull carrying a small Perch. This
is nevertheless larger prey than would normally be taken alive, suggesting it was already
dead when retrieved.
In general, fish comprise less than 5% of the diet, which is dominated by
insects and earthworms (see BWP3, Cramp & Simmons, 1983).
