A Little Gull in first-winter plumage, photographed by Steve Seal. Blackish 'W' still prominent across upper surface of wings but no dark hind-collar as in juvenile. At this age the underwing is basically white (the dark underwing of adults starts to develop during the moult into 2W plumage). Note the pale flesh-coloured legs visible in the lower photo.
