Iceland Gull Larus glaucoidesThird-winter, Staffs, February 2003 |
© S. Nuttall
Photo by Steve Nuttall, Belvide Reservoir, February 2003. Delicate structure compared with Glaucous Gull readily apparent (see comments under photo of 1W individual). In third-winter, plumage approaches that of adult but usually some pale buff retained in wing-coverts and bill retaining dark marks of variable extent distally.
