Iceland Gull Larus glaucoidesAdult, Warks, Dec 31st 2008 |
© A. R. Dean
Unlike the adult at Dosthill on Dec12th 2008, this individual, photographed on Dec 31st 2008 at the nearby roost at Coton, has prominent gingery-brown streaking on the head and breast (more prominent in the field than is apparent in these photos, taken in fast-fading light). Also, the mantle is a little darker, with a 'bluish' tinge. This combination of characters suggests it may the bird recorded at Throckmorton and Westwood Park in Worcestershire in mid-December (per S.M.Whitehouse).
