Still predominantly in first-winter plumage but moult contrast evident in  scapulars in upper photo. Note also the solidly dark tertials, which are still first-generation. In lower photo note the predominantly dark greater coverts (matching secondary bar more closely than median and lesser coverts),  lack of obvious pale window on inner primaries, and very dark underwing coverts. All these features are points of distinction from similarly aged Herring Gull.
